Deciding to study for a bachelor's degree abroad often starts with a single question: which country is right for me? At Weroglobal Student, we address this question not with a list of brochures but together with your grade point average, language level, budget and post-graduation plans. Our university placement service is a process that runs from the first meeting until the week the student starts classes.
Four questions that clarify your choice of country
- Do you have a YKS result? In some countries a high school diploma and transcript are enough, whereas public universities in Germany usually expect an ÖSYM placement certificate; if the diploma is not considered sufficient, Studienkolleg comes into play.
- In which language will you study? For English-taught programmes, our partner sources generally mention an expected IELTS score of between 5.5 and 6.5. For Russian-taught programmes, a preparatory year is often part of the plan.
- What is your annual budget? Deciding by looking only at tuition fees is misleading; the city, accommodation and daily expenses must be taken into account.
- Are you thinking of returning to Turkey? Recognition of the diploma is assessed according to YÖK's current regulations. As summarised in the source, the 2024 regulation sets different rules depending on whether the university is in the top 400 or top 1000; there may be additional ranking requirements for medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and law.
A quick tour of the options
Russia
Admission without an entrance exam is common, and you can apply with a high school diploma. Our partner sources give an average annual range of 2,000 – 6,000 USD for public universities. A preparatory programme is planned separately for Russian-taught programmes.
Germany
Public universities stand out for their low fees, but admission requirements are more selective. The source mentions application deadlines of 15 July for the winter semester and 15 January for the summer semester, as well as the blocked account requirement.
Poland and Czechia
A YKS score is generally not required. The annual fee ranges given in the source are €3,000 – €6,000 for Poland and €3,000 – €8,000 for Czechia. In Poland, some universities may assess English proficiency through their own interviews.
Latvia, Lithuania and Austria
The Baltic countries are considered by those looking for English-taught programmes in engineering and technology. Austria, meanwhile, is a second option in Central Europe for candidates who speak German or are ready to learn it; we check the requirements together according to the programme.
United Kingdom
Applications are assessed against A-Levels or an equivalent qualification. Our partner sources give an annual range of £12,000 – £25,000, so scholarship and financial planning should start early.
We build your application file together
A passport, high school diploma and transcript are the basic documents in every country. Depending on the country, an apostille, notarised translation, language certificate and motivation letter are added. We do not write your motivation letter for you; we discuss what you need to explain and why, and refine your drafts with feedback. As a missing or contradictory document can prolong the admission process, we run the file through a final checklist before sending it.
After the acceptance letter
The job is not done when the acceptance letter arrives. The fee payment schedule, invitation letter or visa file, health insurance, accommodation arrangements and flight plans may all be squeezed into the same weeks. At this stage, we put into a calendar which step belongs to which institution and tell you clearly what is expected of you each week.
Support after enrolment
After arrival, tasks such as university registration, the residence permit application and settling into the city begin. We continue to answer your questions on country-specific steps, such as the migration card and health documents in Russia or the residence card appointment in Europe. As fees and dates can change from one intake to the next, we confirm every figure against the university's current announcement at the time of application.
If you are not sure which country suits you best, we can start with a preliminary assessment meeting based on the documents you have.
